Blues Reaction formed in 2002 by guitarist Nigel Graham, with Pete Willsher on bass & following the first couple of years with drummers Dave Brooks & Gary Cates …..Pat Ross a mate of Nigel’s took over the drum seat in 2004.

Through it’s lifetime, the band appeared at the ’04-’05-’07-’08 & ’09 Cambridge Rock Festivals (formerly The Rockinbeerfest), the Fordham Festival in 2006 and supported Wishbone Ash in 2005 at The Junction in Cambridge.

Nigel’s dynamic guitar work, played with fire, speed & fluidity, was indeed the highlight of the bands eight year career, paying homage to several blues guitar giants and with the album ‘Play Dirty’ being released in 2006 featuring all of his own compositions.

'Play Dirty' reviewed in 'Blues Matters' (Issue 40)

♫ This is quite a hard hitting Blues-Rock trio, who don’t let up easily.

♫ Graham is certainly a good guitarist bordering on the fret shredding edge of fast.

♫ 'Misbehavin’ - The track closes too quickly over some superb Strat playing.

♫ 'Let Me Be' -  Is kicked forcefully  along by the rhythm section with Graham being a free spirit above it all.

♫ 'Blues Classique' – This is how I could imagine a grandiose ELP attempt at a blues tune – a long tour-de-force.

♫ I’d love to see this band live on the strength of this release as they seem to give it all and tear at it without any relapse.
